"Pink is the new kinda lingo" was part of BoldPas; A Day of Art and Play in Old Pasadena, CA. June 2019.
"Pink is the new kinda lingo" was a massive, multi-dimensional painting consisting of over 800 sq. ft. of brightly-painted canvases, glittering fabrics, and interactive streamers suspended high above the alley to illuminate the magic of this color. It takes its title from the lyrics of the song, "Pink" by Aerosmith, just like its iterations twice before. First, suspended in an atrium at Claremont Graduate University, it was intended to be magnificent and shockingly pink, titled, "Pink, it's not even a question." Its second life at MASH Gallery was titled, "Pink, it's the love you discover" to fit the unique experience taking place inside the creation. When BoldPas marked its third life, it seemed as though Pink became a "new kinda lingo," which just so happens to also be a lyric from the song.
This time the pieces were re-imagined in a way to provide BoldPas event-goers an interactive space for fun and play, bringing forth smiles and positivity, again, like the chorus of the song where the true inspiration lies; "and I think everything is going to be alright no matter what we do tonight."
